'Pythonesque' has got nothing to do with the programming language as far as I was aware. It's really coined from the name of the UK TV comedy series, Monty Python.

Ah, I have some clue about this having recently watched a documentary series about the group. Monty Python was the name of the fictional theatrical agent who brought the various group members together, created to sound both flamboyant and right dodgy.

Python, the programming language, was conceived in the late 1980s and its implementation was started in December 1989 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Python_%28programming_language%29#History but Monty Python has just celebrated its 41st anniversay.
