    One of my favorite books of all time, that. Come to think of it, all of these are, which is sort of the purpose of this list.

    But I might even go as far as to say it's my #1 favorite novel. I read it over and over again, and get something new out of it every time. Orson Scott Card is the man.

    Oh wait, I see you added ender before I made my list. Heh. Ain't that a coinkydink?

    I just read it for the first time a couple of months ago. Speaker for the Dead is sitting here waiting to be read.

    I read a review of Card's most recent novel and it sounds disappointing. Lot's of bogus politics, it sounds like.

    Card is sort of hit-and-miss. He's written some great stuff, and he's written some crap. Fortunately, the volume of books alone means there are plenty of good ones to find.

    Plus, he wrote the swordfighting insults in The Secret of Monkey Island, which totally makes up for any books he's written that were utter stinkers.

    I love 1984. Trumpet of the Swan was okay, but I preferred Charlotte's Web as a kid, and now my favorite book by EB White is The Elements of Style.
