I used to pull for this word in preference to hangry, for two reasons: people irritable because they haven't eaten are usually more cranky than angry; and, it seemed more distinct from hungry. But I think it's too hard to speak compared to hangry, which was entered into Merriam-Webster today, and so seems to have won, in one way or another.
From wikipedia: In the original recording (of Land of a Thousand Dances) by Chris Kenner, 16 dances are specifically mentioned: the Pony, the Chicken, the Mashed Potato, the Alligator, the Watusi, the Twist, the Fly, the Jerk, the Tango, the Yo-Yo, the Sweet Pea, the Hand jive, the Slop, the Bop, the Fish and the Popeye.
(I linked the ones that aren't on the list yet...)
I found the word "afghanistanism" used in a quote published in "The Selma of the North", p. 75: "As Barbee explained, 'The main thing is … we want our citizens to focus on local problems and local solutions rather than engaging in Afghanistanism–like problems and solutions in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana." (I think the cite leads back to the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel front page stories on 29 Aug 1965)

I'm always entertained by the terms @immerito tweets using the hashtag #termsfromtoday. As best I can tell, the tag emerged in mid 2011 after a brief flirtation with an alternate hashtag form.
You'll have to ask him what it all means.

Another page on the web dates the word to 1974: http://www.umich.edu/~newsbias/geography.html but it seems that they are late by quite a while.

I wonder if you should filter out twitter hits for users who have a wordnik word as their username, as in @adoxography
Just seems like clutter.
Loving wordnik, btw.
