Why is there no definition for this? Clearly it is a small bird like creature, usually blue and imaginative in origin, that exists purely to prove a point that we are able to adapt our language on the fly to make room for new words and their plural versions of themselves.

This was a word an old college professor liked to use. He never gave us a meaning and just kept right on lecturing. I have since ascribed it the definition of the process by which distance makes you slowly become a stranger to someone you were once familiar with.
