Pretty is an interesting word. The e is not pronounced like the e in bed. It is pronounced like the i in bit.

Note that none of the words on the list (so far) end in -ey.
For words like these, the stress falls on the first syllable:
ANgry Oo
HUNgry Oo
HAPpy Oo
HORny Oo
To make the superlative forms of these words, remove the -y and add -iest (angrier, happier, etc)
To make the comparative forms, remove the -y and add -ier
