In Monterey, CA in the 80's and 90's the term "skitz" was used frequently to be a synonym for "awesome", "rad", "excellent" or "badass". No idea where this came from or whether it also was used in other regions of California, but it seemed to be widely used among people from all different neighborhoods and schools. Example:
Did you see Dylan's new skateboard? Hell yeah, it's skitz.
