Servers? Wordie still runs on a $7/month shared hosting account! I've optimized the heck out of it to keep it working that way because, well, I'm cheap. It probably uses 1/16th of a server.
Sadly, the limiting factor for new features is, as usual, the programmer.

I'd love to get notifications of comments on lists and on individual words, instead of having to subscribe to umpteen feeds, but I worry that generating all those emails would kill the servers.
