only heard this word in reference to films --- by a so called expert ( He was a prof at USC film school ) ...and when no one in the audience quite got the definition correct, he made a couple sarcastic remarks - needless to say THIS did not endear him to our small community which is faaarrrr from Hollywood.
years ago I heard this word used ...as in Paradigm Shift... so many times, I actually started documenting the day, speaker, and number of times per lecture. ....not hearing it so much anymore...Has the paradigm shifted?

Back in the olden days when Playboy Clubs provided gentlemens entertainment - the waitresses, also known as bunnies, had a bunny mother. - a housemother for "bunnies".
as in ingesting footage into editing software - every time I hear "ingest media" I get a very uncomfortable feeling that the software is eating the video.

I have only seen this word used on legal documents - mine!
It makes me feel uncomfortable - to say the least - but then virtually ALL legal jargon makes me feel the same.
