simnett commented on the word geononymity
Gramatically correct as the comment may be, it relies upon a false premise. There is no Twitter Generation per se. Rather, a disheveled phalanx of Internet-empowered lemmings have tried to delegate responsibility for their social conscience to a number of profit-centric Web-based businesses -- including Twitter and Facebook but by no means limited to these. A better expression to characterize this sociological phenomenon was given to us in 1988 by William J. Donnelly's prescient book, The Confetti Generation. The Millenials, as they are termed by marketing executives, have forfeited their personal data in exchange for the false assurance that they have lots of friends.
