What little I retain of Danish, German and French does not allow me to pontificate, let alone comment with any authority, on the existence of auto-antonyms in that lot ... am now pondering the possibility of any such thing in languages that use ideograms ....

May I humbly submit that whoever is responsible for giving the Scrabble score of a word include the bonus score of 50 for any seven- and/or eight- letter word? and add "mimimum" to Scrabble score: that will allow for double/triple letter and double/triple word scores, you see ....
HRYVNIAS (anagrams with VARNISHY...) on the triple triple with the V played on the double letter score for example?? Go figure!!
Ha!! Another first!! This is fun !! No one else has checked out HRYVNAS so far ...seven letters ... will look up HRYVNA and see if that parallels GIRNEL
And now I'm equally amazed that GIRNEL has been looked up as often as that!!
Serendipity rules: a week ago I was introduced not to the concept, but to the several names, of autoantonyms ...and there it is: a link to same on Milosrdenstvi's profile ...will explore that more fully some time not so close to midnight ..ANTILOGY is the only one listed in the Collins Scrabble "Dictionary" (sic):despite being instantly recognisable, they're difficult to find, as far as I'm concerned. Thinks ... do they happen in other languages? Greek?

Looking upGIRNEL on Google gave me GIRLS ...siiighhh ...am a septuagenarian female ...so was pleased also to be led to the wordnik site. and to find what I was looking for: am endeavoring to inculcate on what I laughingly call my brain the information that SINGER + L forms 3 anagrams, of which the hitherto mysterious GIRNELS is one ...am amazed to be informed that I am only the second looker upper of said word ... thanking all those whom this may concern!
