plumeo- could come from the latin "pluma" which means feather or pen, which added to -cide (latin, kill) would come to mean something along the lines of "death of the pen" which makes sense in the context of "deconstructionism's plumeocide" (DFW's essay "Greatly Exaggerated"). Just a guess.
