  • Not trying to sound like a jerk, but... does it have a period at the end, too?

    October 16, 2007

  • omigod. how did that get in there? can I edit the word, or do I have to delete it and re-enter? In which case this discussion goes into the void?

    Aaarrrggh...

    October 16, 2007

  • you can re-enter the word without the period, then remove this one from the list. this version is here forever, though: words never actually get deleted, just their connection to a list. which is why you'll occasionally see a word that says "0 wordies list." means someone listed the word, then unlisted it. i set it up that way in part so that discussions always have something to stay attached to.

you could just re-enter your initial descriptive comment on the new word, if you opt for the do-over. and/or put in a reference to this, if you wanted this thread connected to the period-free version, for whatever reason.

i'm starting to ramble. better go to bed.

  • Since I'm lazy, I'll just note here that the period is supernumerary.

    October 16, 2007

  • Oh, nuts. I thought the period was some inscrutable part of the name. ;-)

    October 16, 2007

  • It is not, reesetee! I can scrute it. See? I'm scruting it right now. Besides, it probably came over here because it's been homeless ever since Dr Pepper kicked it out, lo these many moons ago.

Welcome, little period! You have a home now! We'll take care of you. You in all your cute little black roundness...

  • Really, chained_bear, you've been working too hard.
