    (n): Geophagists consume clayey soil in response to nervous disorders, deprivation, or necessity. There is no nutritional value, though a sense of satiety is produced.

    Records from Java and Sumatra indicate that certain geophagists made a paste from clay that had been cleaned of all foreign objects (sand, stones, sticks, etc.), rolled it out into thin cakes, and baked it in an iron pan over a charcoal fire.
