Motivated by our previous findings that Stx can mediate its own uptake and affect signaling, we set out to investigate if Stx, although binding to a glycolipid, was able to increase the formation of endocytic clathrin coat structures at the plasma membrane and if such increase in clathrin coats might be mediated by signaling through the Syk kinase.
