Hosie was in common use in the neighborhood where I grew up, but it's a pure New Englandism; I've never heard it used as an adult except by myself. It's used to claim something, as "I hosie the green chair for the movie tonight". Stephen King used it in one of his books, I was surprised to see a few years ago.
