Jesseraunce. Also spelled jesserant/jazerant. This from the Funk & Wagnalls complete dictionary of the English language, published 1913- Jazerant: 1. Armor consisting of small oblong overlapping metal plates fastened on one side and quilted into a cloth or velvet jacket; any flexible armor formed of plates; splint armor. 2. A necklace composed of gold or silver plates.
