I just think the restriction on tagging an occurance of a default phantom part as normal for a special case is artificial and unnecissary. mcgyver, I'm glad your operation is so well defined that you can afford to say "never", but very often when I've done that, I've had to eat my words later.

Each part should have an associated drawing (if made in house or by a vendor) or specification sheet (for raw materials) or simply a vendor part number (if purchased like screws / bolts / connectors, etc ...) to the OP, mcgyver has some good points.
