The word is at least over thirty years old, but seems not much used. A good word nonetheless. Some example uses (I found none, so I made them up):
a) Some of Aristotle's works are studied by many scholars even today. Some are well known, although long lost. Still there are, it is believed, also many ophymirages.
b) If anything horrible happens in Sweden, here in Finland it is just shooed away as an ophymirage.
