  • More accurately it's an alternative form of perahu, or prau. Proa is a nonsense.

  • Explanatory on the visuals. Near Bandung (West Java) there's a volcano called Tangkuban Prahu, meaning upside-down boat, because of its profile when viewed from the lowlands.
