With the advent of Mr. Henry Ford's automobiles, travelers to the U.S. national parks in the early 1900's were divided into 2 camps. "Dudes" rode the trains and motor stages. Those called sagebrushers drove their own cars and gear over the mountains and camped. My family were, and are, sagebrushers.
