Also the name of a transvestite cabaret in the basement of West Berlin's Europa Center that was extremely popular in the 70's, and which shocked my 16-year old, sheltered-until-then Irish kid's world. In retrospect, I think it was the kind of stuff that was expertly tailored to please convention attendees from out of town, with a couple of well-calculated faux-shocking moments. At the time, to a bunch of relatively naive Irish teens, the cheap evocation of a kind of louche Weimar-Isherwood decadence was a heady mixture of glamor and brimstone.
