What a great word! A strategy that's gone horribly, disastrously wrong, like the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld plan for Iraq, or the idea of giving mortgages to people who can't pay them back.

Alas, I fear the strategy for Iraq has gone quite according to plan, with increasingly permanent bases right inside one of the world's biggest petrol pumps.
