an addiction to heroin and an incomprehensible Glaswegian accent are potential, but not necessary, accessories.
Brainspotting would be magnetic resonance imaging of one kind or another, I imagine. Such as functional imaging (fMRI), where they do things like ask a rat to do a crossword puzzle and map which regions of his little rodent brain light up as he is struggling with 12 down.
