To say nothing of the fact that I'd really like to put some kind of note on the word to remind me what I was looking for when I found it. For example, in my innocent attempt to tag (with something) my months-old entry confectio Damocritis (which I STILL cannot spell without looking), I found about fifty new words that begged to be listed, somewhere. But I'll never remember that I found it when looking for confectio Damocritis, without a note. This may be the perfect use of private notes, it's true, but it seems like something other Wordie denizens might want to see.

But then, if I put a note on each one of those words, there'd be this huge long list of identical comments streaming past on the front page and someone's bound to get ticked.

Oh well. I'll figure out a solution someday.

Also, I think that whole concept came up on the Aubrey/Maturin list, which (if you think THIS is a black hole) I recommend not delving too deeply or greedily, because a balrog may come up.
