Max Headroom was such an interesting show. I loved Theora and Blank Reg and Edison Carter--how they were trying to take on corporations and advertisers (I still think about blipverts). And, yes, I'll admit it: The only junior high fan letter I ever wrote was to the actor who played computer hacker Bryce Lynch.
