As for a definition of "feldercarb", I would say it's roughly equivalent to the modern day vulgar slang word for "male bovine feces". At least that's the context usage that the 1979 TV series used it for.

It's spelled felgercarb.

felgercarb was correct on the show, but feldercarb is more frequently used in popular culture. It has at least 2x the Google search results. Probably because it is easier to say for most English speakers.
