I haven't heard this before, but the dictionary dates it between 1960-1965.

Tomorrow I will enlighten--as you said o, it is bedtime now. The word's history turned out to be a little more involved than I expected. I did look it up in OED. Stay tuned (no champagne here, only a hike in the hot sun)

OED says this word was first used in 1697, but then the next reference isn't until 1888, after which it seemed to have gained popularity. No mention of it (in the etymology, at least) after the late 19th century.
