A colorhouse - a manufactory of colors for tints, dyes, pigments, paints, glazes, &c. Terms associated with the science and history of colormaking.

All sorts of things went into colormaking, including ground mummies from Egypt (Egyptian brown, mummia, mummy); dried blood (Tyrian purple); charred ivory (ivory black); even sheep entrails and bullock's blood (Turkey red).

Discoveries made exploring the properties and chemistry of coal-tar and its derivatives launched modern colormaking, and this science gave us many dyes whose names are listed here.

This list is the result of my finding kaiserschwarz while identifying words with 5 consecutive consonants for this list.
