You know, I like both john thomas and trouser snake, but it seems like they don't belong here, despite the caveat in the list description that the list includes terms for nearby parts. I added them anyway--but not peter, about which I feel the same way as I do about tampax--I don't like the term enough even to put it on a list of terms I don't like. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi c_b, a search of OED online turns up more testicular terminology (some of it obsolete): cobblers, dimissaries, dowsets, genitors, goolies, knackers, marbles, monkey glands, nadgers, nutmegs, pendants, and pills. "Lamb fries", which I suggested before, are "The products of lambs' castration" eaten fried.

�?ичко is a Russian word meaning testicle, literally 'little egg'. Pronunciation would be something like 'YAYCH-ka', rolig or someone else knowledgeable might be able to confirm/correct that.

Bilby, you're right about the Russian word, which I would transliterate as yaichko, and about its origin (as a diminutive of �?йцо – yaytso – "egg"), but the pronunciation is more like this yah-EECH-ka (the second Cyrillic letter is a full "i", not a "short i").

Slovenes usually call testicles jajca, which curiously enough means "eggs", but the formal word for "testicle" is modo, which is pluralized as moda. And this creates an interesting homonymy, since moda is also a borrowing that means "fashion, vogue" (from the French word mode). Hence the Slovene expression for "men's fashion" – moška moda – also means "male testicles". Put that on your runway and photograph it.

Interestingly the Greek word for testicle is ORCHIS from which we get the common flower, the ORCHID. The operation to remove the testicles is called an orcidectomy. A man/animal with one ball is described as MONORCHID.
