She was quite strident that she didn't invent them all, despite my never claiming that she did. My friend has a 3 month old baby who I will most likely see this week, and I have just rediscovered this wonderful page and will probably not be able to keep it from my mind while holding him and eating cheese.

I've always loved fairy tales, particularly the original, more gory versions. My favourite part of my final year of high school was studying them in German (with special emphasis on the Grimms, of course). My favourite is bearskin.
Strangely enough, the thing that struck me most about the pictures of Haile Homestead was the fact that the date was written as "nineteen three". These days, in most natural speech at least, it'd be more likely to be "nineteen oh three". Makes me wonder when that would have changed.
On the topic of the Vegemite and peanut butter combination: it was common practice at boarding school to have two pieces of toast for breakfast - one with peanut butter and one with Vegemite. The transition between the slices often results in a bit of flavour mixing.

Actually PU, there's no real rule about where you reply. Everyone decides for themselves where they will carry on their conversations and most of us seem to chage our minds pretty regularly.
And maybe you should put off waiting for that comment for a few days, hmm? Don't want to seem too motivated or anything. Sit back, relax.
My childhood backyard was home to more than 20 varieties of fruit. Currants are so much fun to pick and eat, even if the ladder is so rickety you fear for your life :D
No amount of House, or even Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster, or anything else I've seen him in will ever stop this sketch from being the first thing I think of when Hugh's name is mentioned.
*yawn* Heard it all before. Gets less interesting, more of a generalisation and more offensive ("You don't know how lucky you are your parents don't beat you"? Really?) every time.
Although, I must say "You don't know how lucky you are to have caller ID!!" is a new one.
Oh, it's not that I don't think some of this list is spot-on. In fact, that's kind of what I don't like about it. I hate being lumped in with trenchcoat in gym class and visible underwear.
On the one hand, I can relate to slash, braces and the show (assuming bilby means the same show I am thinking of); but on the other, to put the rest of them on teenagers, when I know so many "adults" that are still in love with Trent Reznor and call their internet friends to their defence and have Japan fantasies etc etc etc is just... not fair.

Ah, but the suggestion of Bono was me agreeing with madmouth. Bono is a very unattractive man.
And somehow I missed bilby's earworm-inducing comment the first time round. Now I have seen it. Damn you, bilby!

Although, I must say "You don't know how lucky you are to have caller ID!!" is a new one.

Oh, it's not that I don't think some of this list is spot-on. In fact, that's kind of what I don't like about it. I hate being lumped in with trenchcoat in gym class and visible underwear.
On the one hand, I can relate to slash, braces and the show (assuming bilby means the same show I am thinking of); but on the other, to put the rest of them on teenagers, when I know so many "adults" that are still in love with Trent Reznor and call their internet friends to their defence and have Japan fantasies etc etc etc is just... not fair.
Also, what's wrong with Shakespeare?
Whew.
