Perhaps because puttanesca is a sauce others have not included this term in their lists of pasta varieties.

Looks like you are technically correct but

I am now including pasta puttanesca.Furthermore Id like

a show of hands to those who textually mine from paper

text.Not interested in Wikipedia mining per se.Id also like to

hear why people textually mine? Ive heard one person say they do it because its fun and they are crazy.Perhaps there is an

element of addiction here.

Having spent a good 4hrs on pasta made me want to spend

time with my mother and learn how to make potato gnocchi the

artisanal way

The only proper formulation in Italian is pasta alla puttanesca, i.e. puttanesca (sauce) style pasta. If you have actually come across pasta puttanesca it's incorrect. That said it's not entirely without precedent as spaghetti bolognese, now an accepted formulation in English, makes no sense in Italian either.
